Artist Statement 2012

Yuki Yamamoto / 2012
There are always useful and interesting mechanisms in my life. For example, the Internet and pop entertainment that has evolved too much. They seem to enrich our daily lives, but at the same time, I feel that there are many new kinds of things happening, such as invisible things, invisible things, and mechanisms that make us not aware of important things. First of all, I would like to express the existing balance humorously by painting without affirming or denying them.

My paintings have about 10 layers of transparent layering, creating a small, realistic depth of space in them. And the colorful and simple shapes intermingle in complexity (Recently, only circular shapes are used.). The shapes overlap in the screen, and you can't see what you are looking at by mixing. I want to include comfort and anxiety at the same time.

By creating a painting space, I want to find just a little truth. I think artists in the past probably found a little truth in each way in each era.
